A selvage jean is incomplete without the right belt. For us here at Brave Star that would be a classic raw vegetable tanned leather belt. Why raw leather? Besides raw selvage, leather is the only other material that that has the ability to age beautifully and acquire a patina that is not duplicatable with dye. This belt will begin to show wear right out of the gate and after approximately 3 months a patina will begin to develop that will be unique to you and your wear. As far as construction goes, we kept it stitchless since stitching is the main point of weakness on any belt. We have updated our construction with two flat head rivets to secure the buckle instead of the chicago screws as the feedback from our community was that these were scratching the leather during shipping. The buckle can no longer be switched out due to the new permanent rivets. The strap is edged by hand and is finished with a traditional English point.

How to measure for your size:
All Brave Star belt straps are made with 5 holes, spaced 1" apart. The centre hole is the anchor size with the bookend sizes spaced one inch apart. We have taken the guesswork out of figuring out which size you would need and recommend that you buy your jean size in our belts. Example; a size 32 jean size would order a 32" belt.
