12.5oz Shadow is a crisp double-black stretch selvage from Kaihara, one of Japan’s most respected denim mills. Founded in 1893, Kaihara built its reputation on yarn dyeing, and that expertise shows here.

The warp is sulfur-dyed black and the weft is reactive-dyed black, giving the fabric a deep shadowed face with real fade potential. Unlike flat black denim that stays dead, this one is built to evolve with wear, breaking down more like your favorite indigo pair.

A subtle slub in the warp adds texture, depth, and just enough irregularity to keep the cloth from looking too clean. At 12.5oz, it hits that sweet spot: crisp, sturdy, easy to wear, and cut with a little stretch for comfort without losing its selvage backbone.

Our Strongman fit is constructed for those that need more room thru the seat and thighs but with a pulled in waist. This will eliminate the need to buy a larger size for the seat and hips and ending up with a waistband that's too large. The key component to the Strongman cut is the contoured waistband versus a straight cut waistband which is a unique design feature to this fit.

  • Black top stitching for stealth all black aesthetic
  • Sewn & chain stitched in all the right places on vintage Union Special, Reece & Singer machines.
  • A & E core spun poly thread for maximum strength & durability.
  • Embroidered star insignia on the right back pocket represents ‘Made in America’ status.
  • Button fly with double prong, donut style buttons. Old style pocket rivet burrs.
  • All hardware is made in Kentucky.
  • Leather back patches are cut & stamped in Los Angeles & waistband label is woven locally in Los Angeles.
  • Every aspect of the production is US made at our own facility in Downtown Los Angeles.

All waistband measurements are "full waist measurements." For a full waist measure, take your layflat waist measurement and double it. All other measurements are layflat (not doubled). Please allow for a +/- 1/2" tolerance in waistband, top block, thigh, knee, and hem opening vs listed spec.
