SUMO doesn't get its name by accident. At a staggering 25oz, this heavyweight beast is woven using massive Ne 3.5 count yarns in both the warp and weft. For perspective, the lower the yarn count, the thicker the yarn, and at Ne 3.5 we're talking about some seriously heavy cotton. Packing that much yarn into a right hand twill construction produces a dense, substantial slab of denim with unmistakable weight and structure.

The dark indigo warp is deliberately free of slub, giving SUMO a clean, uniform surface that lets the sheer scale of the yarns do the talking. The traditional right hand twill creates a pronounced diagonal grain, with a tightly packed weave built to develop deep, hard-earned fades as the indigo wears away.

At 25oz, SUMO sits firmly in the heavyweight division. A mountain of indigo and cotton with the kind of presence that makes ordinary heavyweight denim look like it's fighting two weight classes below.
