THE STEADFAST JACKET
When we decided to make our first denim jacket back in 2006, we knew how it should fit - snug but not tight & should sit on the hips without being too short. The result is a modern classic - functional & timeless. Wear it over a white tee shirt or under a vintage leather jacket or peacoat, its hard to go wrong with this iconic garment.
- two interior selvedge chest pockets.
- selvedge detail adjustable waist tab
- slanted exterior chest pockets for functional, easier access.
- Flat felled interior seams.
- embroidered star insignia on back yoke represents 'Made in America' status.
- leather cowhide interior patch.
On Oct 18th Cone Mills announced that after 112 years in business they would be officially ceasing all production and operations and permanently close the White Oak plant in North Carolina as of Dec 31st 2017. Cone is the oldest operating denim mill in the world and is the last to weave selvedge denim in the US.
Owning a pair of Cone Mills selvedge denim woven at the White Oak plant will not only be a badge of honor but a necessary addition to any serious or aspiring denim heads collection. Do not miss this opportunity to add this quality to your rotation while supplies last.
We have a special affinity for 15 oz since it's one of those qualities that feel substantial without being 'novelty' heavy. This 15 oz in particular has a looser weave with a prominent 'cross hatch' aesthetic on the face. This fabric has a softer hand due to the long staple cotton and is probably one of the most comfortable raw denims we've had the pleasure of breaking in over the last few years. The indigo color is quite intense with a dark, saturated warp yarn and an all natural white weft. Construction is a 3x1 RHT ARS x ARS with a black & green cast that gives off multiple shade contrasts during the fade progression.
